My Story
I was born in Calgary, AB Canada in 1987, but mostly grew up in Phoenix, Arizona. I graduated from Arizona State University in 2011 with a degree in English Lit, and along the way fell head over heels in love with (and married) my high school sweetheart, read a whole lot of good books, created an online wedding business, and had the incredible opportunity to take a stint traveling the dirty south as a volunteer for Invisible Children. In May of 2012, my husband and I had a baby boy, whose name is Beckett. Just as things looked like they were going to settle in my life, God asked my little family to pack up and move to New England, where we currently reside.
There's obviously more to my story than hard facts, but truth be told I'm just a simple girl who enjoys all of life's beautiful little moments. Like sipping a warm tea on a chilly afternoon, finishing a long run with a 1/4 mile sprint, laughing maniacally with some good friends, singing softly to my baby as he wakes up in the morning, and stepping off a plane at the start of a grand adventure. I feel like the world gets far too complicated with all of the noise and gadgets and demands that surround our lives, so when things get crazy for me, I return to the simple moments like drinking tea and running. Simplification is key.
And that's what I'll seek to do through this blog. To simplify some of my life's more complicated moments, and engage in online dialogue about the things that matter most to all of us. Maybe small things, like starting a baby on solid foods, and maybe big things, like theology. Who knows. Regardless, I look forward to sharing my journey with you and discovering life's simple joys together.
